I always knew this but today tops the cake. The news happened to be talking about how immigrant children and their families are being separated and my mom goes "they should stay in their country" and I called her out on it and she goes "they should stay in their country, coming over here and getting shit for free and taking over" and I told her that they're leaving their country for a reason and she says "that's not our problem". I shook my head and walked away because she's ignorant. she doesn't even know what the fourth of July is about (I literally had to tell her what it's celebrated for).
