Vbac shoulder dystocia

Allie

I did it, I vbaced! Recovery has been so. Much. Better. Even with my very deep 3rd degree laceration. Long live the vaganus! Lol they are barely separate items now.

Note that if you’re a risk for shoulder dystocia, my advice would be to take it seriously. My baby came out purple and limp with a broken collarbone because he got stuck for 1.5 minuets of three people grinding their body weight on my belly while I pushed and the doctor suctioned and pulled. Scary and painful as hell.

If I would have known how big he was, I am not sure I would have tried to vbac him. But he measured normal at 36 weeks. I had a gut feeling he was bigger. He was 8 lb 15 oz. I am petite and pushed for 3 hours before accepting help via suction. Good luck to all you ladies dreaming of vaginal delivery, it is so valid!
