Is cramping normal?

There’s a high miscarriage rate in my family and I’m 20... first baby. I literally found out yesterday and got medical confirmation today that I’m pregnant. All day I’ve had bad gas, mild cramping, on and off headaches. I know pregnancy symptoms but is cramping okay? Is it bad?

I cramped from 4 to 9 weeks and now I’m 17 and the cramping has returned!

Cramping is normal as long as it’s not severe. Mine got pretty uncomfortable my first time. Your uterus has to expand, so that’s what the cramping is.

Gas pains are the worst.  One day I was in excruciating pain, i was over the toilet about to throw up from the pain.  I was squatting down over the toilet bouncing because the pain was so bad ready to throw up.  Then all of a sudden I passed gas and my pain went away like 30 seconds after.   
I let my Obgyn know and they checked in hCG level just to be sure because I had just found out I was pregnant so they monitored my hCG for three days and everything was fine.    
Literally I was so scared I was ready to go to the emergency room that’s how much pain I was in. So could very well be gas pains
