have you ever had sex while you had a yeast infection???

tonight my boyfriend and i went out and we were ready to have sex. we both were aware that i had a yeast infection but it hadn’t really been bothering me too much and i was in the mood so we figured we’d go for it. as soon as he tried to stick it in me i felt a huge pain so he stopped for a sec but i told him to try again a minute later and the same pain happened. then i reached down and felt blood dripping, and realized i had started bleeding pretty heavily from my vagina. needless i say we did not end up doing it. but now i feel my vagina is very swollen and it still spotting a little. has this ever happened to anyone else before?? am i stupid for trying to have sex while i had a yeast infection?? please help a girl out.
