Cysts and period??

Question

Can someone tell me what it's like having ovarian cysts on your period? I've been off BC for 6 months and this is only my second period. And holy cow. I know I've been irregular but I have been in awful pain for 3 days. And not cramps - I mean my lower back and lower abdomen HURT. And this period has been so, so heavy. Going to call my dr first thing in the morning but just wanted to hear others experiences!

I have ovarian cysts all the time.. for me there is no pain during my period. I don’t even know I have them until I go in for a scan or they rupture

My doctor told me they are quite common and most of the time they go unnoticed and without pain. Though in my case I'm highly sensitive to them, so usually during my period it sort of feels like bombs going off for a couple seconds and then no pain whatsoever. Now this is just for me, and if you experience pains like this from the  cysts I would recommend talking to your doctor about it.
