My husband and I just bought a house, so we’re in the process of buying things to decorate, appliances, furniture, etc.

Y’all my MIL is loaded, and my husband and I are not. Which is fine, we’d never expect her to give us anything.

However, she texts me to go “house shopping” every weekend, she takes me to these expensive boutiques in town that she knows my husband and I can’t afford. She knows we’re in dyer need of a couch, and that we’ve been looking. She took me to a furniture place that had nothing under $5,000.

She bought herself a brand new couch and was like “oh you’ll have to come help decorate”.

We went shopping for side tables for my husband and i’s living room, once again she takes us to a place we can’t afford, and buys herself brand new side tables.

Today, this lady has the nerve to say “I went antique shopping today, and they had a 30 cent bin, so I got you a cute painting for your wall”.

This thing was completely beaten up. I guess what bothers me is that she has no issue spending thousands of dollars right in front of me when she knows we can’t afford it, and then has the nerve to bring us a 30 cent painting, like that’s all we deserve
