Pill Struggles

I started the pill to lighten and shorten my period as I have an 8 day period with horrible cramps and a heavy flow. The first time I took it, I threw up 6 times. Then I decided to keep going and finish out the pack. I’d didnt throw up the rest of the month. Then, I started the second pack and threw up once on the first day and twice on the second day. My doctor says I’ll get used to it but I’m not sure if the nausea and vomiting is worth the struggle. What do you guys think?
