IVF worth it?

My SO and I have been ttc for the past 4 years. I have endometriosis (diagnosed in 2008). We have been through 10 rounds of Clomid. We've temped, charted, tested and made sex into a chore. I'm so tired and most days I feel like giving up. We've decided to take a break until after the first of the year. Then we are making an appointment with a fertility clinic in Maryland. Has anyone ever done IVF and had success? What should I expect? Was the cost worth it?

We tried for 4 years. Nothing found wrong with either of us so very much unexplained. Tried IUI with clomid 4 times, all failed. Just did our 1st IVF with ICSI....I'm 6 weeks 3 days pregnant! Definitely worth it!!

IVF worked for us. I have endometriosis as well. All other tests came back normal for both me and hubby. After every test in the book, our RE suggested IVF. He said IUI, clomid and the like wouldn't work because the cells stopping pregnancy were still present and my body seemed to attack itself after every ovulation therefore not allowing me to get pregnant.

IVF was a very hard choice and a HUGE investment (including meds/tests/follow ups...none of which insurance covered... It was nearly $20k). I put my body through a lot but I also learned how amazing it is. I turned out to be a low responder to my meds (Lupron/Bravelle/Menopur) so retrieval day only yielded five eggs but one was immature. After a few days in the lab, my RE said a 3dt was the only way to go. They transferred back two eggs, one was good, one was ok. The other eggs didn't even make it to freezing. Daily progesterone shots continued until I hit 12w.

Long story short, I am now 17w1d pregnant with our first, all thanks to IVF. We are aware of the fact that to have more children we will likely have to do IVF again. Having done it, it's hard but wow does it pay off. I feel beyond blessed and when we tell our baby we really wanted her, we won't be lying. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!
