What should I do?! Birth control?!

I’m 22, got off birth control in November after around 6 years. Tried getting pregnant but it hasn’t happened and 8 months later, things with my boyfriend of 3 years aren’t going good. I’m not sure if we can even have kids sense it hasnt happened and I’ve been ovulating according to ovulation tests.

I’m strongly thinking about getting back on birth control ASAP, because of the way things have been going and because my periods are SO painful. BUT I know it’s not good for your body and it takes time after you stop taking the pill to get to where you can even get pregnant and I’m already 22 right now, so if I were to get back on it it’ll probably be for a couple more years, and then I wouldn’t want it to mess my body up to where I couldn’t get pregnant after I stop it in the future so I don’t know what to do!?
