My son is 9 months old and has some pretty bad GERD that causes him to choke during reflux & some sleep apnea. He was put on Zantac at 5 months after a hospital stay for choking (observation). We started off on 1.1mL & we have been raising it slowly (peds orders) as it works for a few weeks, then he’ll start choking again. We are now at 2.5mL & his GI doctor wants to put him on Prilosec. We were given powder packets to mix with water.. 10mg of Prilosec & 15mL of water mixed once a day. I feel like that’s a very strong dosage for a 9 month old. Has anyone else given this to their baby, know someone who has, or has any information on this? I just picked up the prescription & the specialist’s office isn’t open until Monday.
