Sitting up and standing

How do you put your Baby to sleep at night now that they can stand up or sit up? Now my daughter just stands up and cries or sits up and cries. It’s taking forever for her to go sleep. Tonight I even had to nurse her to sleep and that’s not a habit I want to get into.
