Help Metformin

So I started Meformin today and have been feeling fine. Then all of a sudden after dinner I started feeling horrible stomach pains! My doctor warned me about diarrhea but I didn't know it would cause such an upset stomach. I am kind of freaking out... Did this happen to anyone else? She told me it should go away after the first few days of taking it. It hurts so bad I am not sure I want to ever take it again. 😖
