My husband went behind my back and took our 8 month old to his parents I just found out, where she isn’t suppose to go because they chain smoke in their house and the smoke just lingers around. I’m ticked. Reason I’m posting, since yesterday these symptoms have appeared(Saturday) but they got worse today, he took her Friday night. She’s had red puffy watery eyes, a slight cough, sleepy/clingy and now I think she has a fever also. I had to clean her nose this morning but I don’t seem to thing it’s really anything with her nasal. Is this related or am I just being hypochondriac and it’s just coincidence?

I would be livid!!! Since a fever is present I would call the pediatrician in the morning! I’m so sorry that this happened!

Not sure but I’d be beyond pissed. How dare he put her in that harmful environment. Take or call your pediatrician and see if they want you to bring her in. Sorry your lo has to inhale all that toxic garbage.

its related. My in laws smoke in the house when they baby sat my son (their place). He had the same issues but was very blue the next day. Granted he had major breathing issues to begin with. They only baby sat him for a month, then I stopped working. 
Now they don't see my son unless I say its OK. they don't take him anywhere at all, I can't trust them. I will never trust them & they know it. 
Don't feel bad about it. Stand your ground! If they feel entitled to see your baby, they aren't. Its your baby, you keep baby safe. Dont feel guilty.

I would definitely be irritated too, but in most cases I would bet it’s just a coincidence. Until 20 years ago (or less in a lot of places) anywhere you would have taken her would have had a smoking section and babies were exposed to cigarette smoke far more often than they are today. A generation before that it was common for most people to smoke in their homes too, so it’s unlikely one exposure would cause any issues, unless she asthmatic or has another underlying issue. With all those symptoms I’d probably see my pediatrician just to be sure. I hope it all turns out well!

I mean, I grew up in a house where both my parents smoked a lot and I turned out fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ although, if your LO is sensitive to smoke or has an allergy then it might cause a reaction. But I doubt the smoke caused it. Take bubba in if you’re worried.
