Test to find out gender in the 1st trimester?

Does anyone know what the blood test you can get in the first trimester that tells you baby’s gender is called? Is this something most doctors do now or can I request it?

Doctors did mine, An it tests for chromosome disabilities

The blood test, tests for Down’s syndrome and a few other things and it also tells the baby’s gender... if you asked for the blood test that tells the baby’s gender your OBGYN would know what your talking about

I had the genetic testing at 10 weeks. Where it tests for chromosomal abnormalities of all sorts and also tells you the sex if you request it. I’m in Australia so we don’t have health insurance for that type of stuff so it was out of pocket $450 and was called the Harmony test.

You can do sneak peek at home or a genetics test at the doctors office and they tell you, but most insurances don’t cover that

Make sure your insurance covers it! We had progenity blood test done. Our doctor told us it would cost us $99 with or without insurance so we said yes! Got our EOB and the test actually cost $7,500! So just make sure you know exactly what you are paying for before you have it done!

Some doctor run the test with genetic testing and some don’t. You’ll have to ask yours if they do that testing and make sure your insurance covers it beforehand because otherwise it could be around $3,000 out of pocket.
