Just diagnosed today
This seems more tough than I imagined. I'm realizing 99% of what I eat (before I found out I have GD) is a carb or sugar.... I'm going to have to start from scratch.
I haven't seen the diabetes specialist yet but I tried to eat better today. I'm so confused how to regulate the carb intake. Like how much should we be eating per meal/day?
Also, I have to change to sugar free everything.... Which I believe will trigger my migraines. Artificial sweeteners are a big no-no for that. So sugar free gum, using sweeteners in iced tea, doing diet soda etc will trigger headaches. So I dont know how to partake in limited dessert/sugary stuff if that's all diabetics are supposed to use.
I have a withdrawal sugar headache right now. This is hard!
