when will I hear the heart beat?

on my 14w1d us appointment the doctor didnt check for a heart beat. I go to the doctor july 30th to find out the gender of my baby. I really hope I get to hear the heart beat. if not when do you usually??

That’s weird. Usually they start using the Doppler after 12 weeks.

That’s odd. They check fetal heart rate at all of my appointments and have been since i hit 7 weeks.

Doctors in my area refuse to listen for heartbeat until 16 weeks. I asked at my 12 week ultrasound and they could see it and measure it but they wouldn't turn on the sound. 🙄

Today at my 16 week appt was the first time my doctor used the handheld Doppler to listen to heart rate.

I am 28 weeks now. And had my last ultrasound at my doctor’s office at week 15. After that my OB/GYN has been checking the heartbeat every time with the fetal heart beat doppler and she will continue doing that. You can request your doctor to check the heartbeat for your peace of mind.

I heard mine at 8 weeks with transvaginal and again with a doppler at 12 weeks. Although I have heard some doctors won’t use a doppler until 15 weeks.

That’s really weird. That’s always one of the first things I have done starting at like, 10ish weeks I believe! I’m 39 weeks now and I hear it at every appointment. Next time I would just ask if you can hear it.
