Circumcision at birth?

For the moms who decided to get their sons circumcised at birth, did you have to ask for it to be done or did they ask you for permission first? This will be the first boy on both sides of the family and my significant other didn’t get circumcised until he was 19 (which he doesn’t recommend waiting until later). No judgment please, we’ve already decided we’re going to have the procedure done while he’s young. TIA.

The pediatrician will come in and ask about it. They usually do it a day after birth

How far along are you? Around 37 weeks my OB asked for my birth plan and she took note that I wanted my son circumcised. She then told the hospital, who called my pediatrician when my son was born. Your pediatrician will be the one performing it, so it’s a good idea to start doing research to find one you trust.

We let the ob know and when the hospital set up the first ped appt they let them know. We met the ped who did the procedure and she walked us thru it. It took about 10 min and baby slept thru it

My bff had circumcision already planned for a day or 2 after with her doctor ahead of time. She ended up having it done same day as delivery because his foreskin wasn't formed right and it was largely blocking the urethra.

I believe you would have to ask for it, since its a medical procedure that will be billed. And they can do it without consent.

I was asked at 10 weeks if I wanted a circumcision for a boy. I'm sure they'll ask again closer to birth, if it is a boy.
