I don’t have a night time routine for my newborn and I NEED ONE!

So ever since my now 6 week old daughter was born and I was on maternity leave and a first time mom learning how to mom, I didn’t really establish a nighttime routine with my daughter. She basically ate every 2.5-3hrs and then would be up for a few minutes and then fell back asleep for a nap until her next feeding. The first week or so we had to wake her for her feedings because we needed to supplement after breastfeeding to ensure she gained weight back after losing 9% of her birth weight. Then once we were cleared for having to supplement we let her sleep however long she could at night and it just so happened that she would wake up every 2-3hrs. My husband suggested when she was about 4 weeks that we need to keep her awake from 5 till bed time. Which after two nights I realized she was getting overtired as well as overstimulated and would be up ALL NIGHT those nights. About a week ago I decided I should probably set a bed time for her (which we weren’t doing prior) and also I was going to attempt dreamfeeding to get her into the groove of it and see if she’d start sleeping longer at night. Well both failed. I can’t seem to get her to bed at the same time every night. I typically try to feed her right before putting her down though, which IS one thing I can keep a routine of. And the few times I tried dreamfeeding I couldn’t get her to wake up enough to feed, no matter what!

This week she’s been sort of fighting sleep. I think she’s having a growth spurt, plus the heat in our home, has been making for quite frustrating days and nights.

I know this is all really rambly. But I’m a first time mom, as well as a huuuge night owl, so I’m not quite sure how to go about establishing a nighttime routine?!

I like the idea of bath/feed/sleep because well quite frankly that sounds nice even for me lol

But I don’t think I could bathe her every night...

Maybe massage/feed/sleep???

Idk!! What worked for you?! I need ideas for a 6 week old lol
