Makena Shots to prevent premature labor

Just wondering if any momma out there has had to take the Makena shot to prevent premature labor and if it’s worked??

My last baby I had him at 32 weeks so my doctor recommended I get the makena starting at 16 weeks till 36 weeks. Im now 31 weeks + 3 and I’ve been getting the braxton hicks contractions like in my previous pregnancy since I was about 23 weeks. I’m just wondering if the makena has worked for others and went full term? I’m due till September 16th but my pains besides the braxton hicks are intense at times like lower back pain and pain on my crotch area. Maybe I’m just freaking out 😬
