Pacifier ! Until what age?

My baby uses a pacifier to sleep. I am not sure at what age should I take it away.

I’ll start weening my kids off once they start getting teeth . They mess up the bite and cause for braces in the future if you let them have it too long . A little girl i nanny is 2 still has it and her bite is off and she has a hard time talking cuz of it.

I started taking it from my daughter at 11 months. She’s almost 1 and doesn’t need it anymore

I took it from my kid at 9 months. my hard limit was a year.

Took the dummy away at 5.5 months when my daughter started to through the dummy out the cot. We went cold turkey and never looked back. The younger the better.

We said we would wean by 1. That didn’t happen.  She started cutting teeth, I had 2 miscarriages and a hospital stay, and we moved. We needed the sanity of the pacifier. However somewhere around 18 months we took it away except sleeping. She’s 2 now. Not sure when I’ll truly take it away. I’m not in much of a hurry. It’s not affecting her teeth, and she speaks more than a lot of 3 year olds I know.

We are in the same boat. Our daughter is 7 months and only uses it to sleep. 
I’m not sure when we will take it away, she’s uses it for soothing and we are working on helping her fall asleep independently so it won’t be until after she’s gonna that down.

We took it away cold Turkey at 19 months and it sucked at first, but after she got over it she wanted nothing to do with them. she has perfect teeth according to her dentist too.

We tried taking it away at 17 months. She did great for two nights, then shit hit the fan and she was up letting out a scream every 15 min for 6 hours. It was so bizarre. She then started the 18 month sleep regression. So after 9 days of barely 6 hours of sleep(and 3-4 for Dad and I) we said fuck it and gave it back for naps and bed. she has perfectly straight teeth. I’ve decided once the molars are in we will start talking about her not needing it and once she understands we will take them away. She will be two in October.
