Can you bleed during pregnancy?? If so, what kind of bleeding??

I have seen some women on here who get periods while pregnant?! I'm confused I always thought that heavy bleeding indicated you were not pregnant?? 
Now I'm scared haha

Heavy bleeding is not always an indication you have lost a baby. Many people go through pregnancy with their full periods and many people also bleed throughout pregnancy and it can be perfectly normal but the only way to bw sure whats going on is to have an u/s

It's not periods, but it's period like bleeding. It's uncommon for it to happen  and my midwife has always told me to report any bleeding, especially heavy bleeding, so they can check baby is okay

It's very uncommon to have heavy bleeding in pregnancy. Spotting and light bleeding is common, but the bleeding should never be like a period flow. On rare occasions women will bleed like a period and still be pregnant.
