Exfoliate really good before shaving. It's helped me pretty much get zero to no ingrown hairs.

Shave downward, with the fair, I use baby lotion after. Also use moisturizing shaving cream or conditioner when shaving.

Well it marketed for waxing but it works just as well for shaving... I bought "smooth me" ingrown hair serum from european wax center and it works amazingly for me. I use it on my shaved bikini line and my waxed parts.
