Do you own a home or rent?

Always wanted to own a home when I had my first baby but didn't quite work out that way. Still renting for now but no biggie! Baby will have a roof over her head and that's what matters. Curious how many of you own versus rent! 😊

We made a major move when I was pregnant with my first, and moved in with my in-laws for the first year. It was rough, but we officially own our own home as of about 3 weeks ago! My daughter is almost 20 Months, and baby number two will be here in 11 days. Not owning isn’t the end of the world! You’ll have just as much fun regardless of your home status! Not to mention, it makes you appreciate the home you will own someday even more! (And your baby will have no idea!!).

We’re renting because with my husband being in the military we move every 2 years. Saving to buy when we are somewhere longer.

With only 3 months notice, we moved across the state when I was 26 weeks. 
We are renting a house until we get to know the area enough that we know where we want to buy.

My hubby just got out of the Army and is using his GI Bill to go back to school this Fall. Technically, we could use his VA loan to buy a house now, and it is very tempting—we both have “house fever” really badly—but we aren’t sure yet if we’ll be staying in this area after he graduates so it just makes more sense to us to rent until then.

We live in one of the most expensive places in America. Renting is very popular here, especially right now in the middle of a sellers market. 
We’ve been house hunting for a little over a year, but we just resigned our lease. It just makes more sense atm. We’ve decided if we find something worth breaking our lease for, we’ll take the plunge. 
That said, we’re really in no rush. We love our building and aren’t quite ready to give up high rise life yet, but also don’t want to waste money on a two bedroom when we’ll need three soon enough (and the only three bedrooms in our building are penthouses).

Nothing wrong with renting ! Plenty of benefits. We became homeowners a year and a half ago. It’s small and it’s old but it’s ours. ☺️
