how did you manage no sleep with infant and prechooler??

Question

I have 2 kids but my oldest was 10 when I had my second and in school and able to do for herself. I am going to have a 4 year old and an infant.. how did you handle the lack if sleep obviously I will not be able to sleep when baby sleeps my 4 year old still gets up at 630 every day
 and I know yallhave some tips because some of you have even younger children with infants.  all advice and tips. Thanks

It’s hard! Not gonna lie. I really only found it really exhausting the first few weeks then I just overcame the lack of sleep. In the beginning I would put a movie on in my bed, let my 4 year old watch it with a drink/snack. Put the newborn to sleep in the bassinet next to my bed. Then I would literally lock us in the bedroom and turn on the house alarm. I’d say 99% of the time I just rested with my eyes closed and 1% I’d doze off for 20mins or so. 
I have a really hard time napping so I honestly would just go to bed as soon as my kids did to catch up. Sometimes we’d all be asleep by 7pm!

I honestly don’t even remember basically the first few months of my youngests life because I was so tired.

There's really no way around it. I have 4 kids ages 6, 4, 2, and 3 months and it sucks having to get my butt up at the crack of dawn to get my older 2 off to school. The beauty of preschool is that if they're late, no big deal. When you get to kindergarten then it's a problem.

tbh you just do it. I mean I had my 3 yr old and my 8 yr old to take to school. it's amazing how much you can handle when you think you can't. if you have hard days maybe reach out to friends or family. that's what I did but rarely

I’m trying to imagine this myself. Not just the lack of sleep but just the logistics of daily life. I’m sure I’ll find my groove but right now trying to wrap my head around it all is crazy. I have a 6 yr son with special need (nonverbal autistic with sensory processing disorder) he has therapy/medical appts every day of the week since he was 18 months old). He requires round the clock care and is unable to do any aspects of daily care for himself. For example he is unable to feed himself, dress himself, take a bath, etc all the things we all take for granted being able to do for ourselves) he’s also a wanderer/Bolter with no sense of danger whatsoever so you must have your eyes on him at every moment and you must have a hand on him at all times or if at home at the very least have him no more than an arms length at the most away from you. I also have a just turned 9 month old daughter, she just started pulling herself up on things trying to walk and is crawling all over the place and is literally into everythinggggggggg! Of course she requires all aspects of daily care as well. I am currently 23+2 with a very unexpected and unplanned baby and due in November. The youngest and this baby will be about 12 1/2 months apart. My son will turn 7 beginning of November. So I’m trying to wrap my head around having a 7 yr old, a then just turned 1 yr old, and a newborn.
