If you’re in love with someone enough to want to marry them, there’s no way you should be able to leave them just because they won’t marry you on your time schedule.  If you can leave, it wasn’t strong enough love.

It depends on the guy. If hes made it clear marriage is not something he wants in life ever (or until hes a certain age), then no. Some people just dont want it or want to wait until they're a certain age/reach a certain level in life. (like done with college, own a house, etc) But if nothing like that has happened and you think you've been with the man long enough, dont just dip. Have a conversation. Tell him how you feel, where you wasnt this to go and see what he says.

I've been with mine since we were 15. He asked me to marry him back in June 2012, but I just wanted a small, intimate wedding -- hell, even getting married in the courthouse. 
We still havent officially married yet. He tells me whenever I want to do it, let's go! We've been pretty busy since then and getting married just hasnt seemed very important to me. He calls me his wife, we file taxes together, and we are very committed to each other and we KNOW we want to spend our lives together. So, to me, its just a piece of paper. Dknt get me wrong, I want to soon but just have to take care of a few things before then.
