Will anemia hurt my baby?

I have been diagnosed with anemia and am scared it will hurt or kill my baby. I am only 5 weeks. Any advice or positive vibes are needed. I cannot take iron pills as they make me very ill

If you can’t take iron pills, you need to look into either upping the amount of iron-rich foods in your diet or possibly getting iron infusions. I needed those as my levels were dangerously low. I was informed that levels 6 or under could be detrimental to your health and fatal for a growing fetus.

If your pills make you ill you need to speak to your doctor about putting you on a different version. Try taking only half at a time. Always take it with food. Try taking it at night before bed. If you’re far gone enough that your doctor has diagnosed you with anemia diet changes may not be enough to get enough iron for you and baby. Pregnant or not anemia is dangerous.

My SIL bled out during her delivery and needed an emergency blood transfusion due to anemia. It's more harmful to you than the baby so it's important to increase your iron if you can't do a supplement.
