How to encourage babies to crawl?

Any tips please? My 8 months old is not crawling. I’ve had people keep asking me “is she crawling now?”.

I used to put a blanket under my daughter during tummy time, then lift up the sides to slightly elevate her to where she would be in a crawling pose to help encourage her to crawl. she was still a pretty late crawler, but pretty much started walking a month or so later.

Give her something to crawl towards! Move all of her toys out of reach so she has to work to get them. At first I would also have to hide from my LO, if he saw me, that was enough entertainment that he didn’t care to go get a toy, but if he thought he was alone, he’d work harder to get what he wanted to play with.

My son was very fascinated with a phone with the screen lit up. We would put him at one end of the room, and keep the phone just out of reach of him. He got bored with it so we moved to a remote controlled car. Sounds weird, but it worked! He was intrigued by the colors on the car so every time he reached for it hubby would move it just out of reach. Got him up and crawl within days!

My son skipped crawling he barreled rolled everywhere and the he walked. Most pediatricians do not consider crawling a developmental milestone anymore.
