Baby won’t take bottle

Jes • 🤱🏼

Please help

My 16 week old (almost 4 months old) will not eat my breast milk from a bottle.

I’ve tried many different bottles and he will not eat at all.

I don’t think he understands to suck on it he just chews on it. I don’t know how to make him suck

on it.

My husband gives him the bottle and my mom has tried as well. He will not take it from any of us.

Bottles I’ve tried are:

Playtex baby drop ins

MAM

Avent

Tommee tippee

Lansinoh mOmma

Spectra bottle

Munchkin latch

When we first introduced the bottle to our daughter, my husband would give it to her and I woukd have to go into another room. She would not take it if I was in the same room and she definitely would not take it from me.

Aww, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to tell you. This was the only approach we tried. I didn't mind exclusively nursing her since I'm home all day, but my husband wanted to feed her so I allowed him too. Hope you find a method that works for you!!! 😊

i am having the same issue--i don't think my daughter understands that she needs to suck on the bottle nipple to drink. she just either chews it or plays with it with her tongue. it is extremely frustrating especially since she is starting daycare in less than 2 weeks. I'm kind of freaking out about that but everyone keeps telling me she will figure it out at daycare when I'm not around and there's no other option. she is only 8 weeks though... i would say try a sippy cup of your is 16 weeks. good luck and hang in there mama!

Someone on fb said haakaa has nipple shields shaped like bottle nipples and maybe that would help the transition. I’m thinking about looking into that.

Yeah I keep getting told he will take the bottle if he has to but that scares me so much I want to know that he will take it and is ok before going to work.

I’m in the same boat. Go back to work in a week and my guy won’t take any bottle. Have you found anything that’s worked for you yet?

Have you tried fresh milk or previously frozen? Also, have multiple other people try feeding.
