Hello all,

Originally I wanted to let my Mom know the babies gender to plan a reveal party. However, I live out of state and met with my DR today and I’m not sure I can travel home to have both a reveal party and a baby shower. So my husband and I will find out and announce to family and friends via picture, phone call what have you. I am bummed because I wanted to learn the exciting news surrounded by loved ones because I didn’t get to tell them our pregnancy news in person.

So I still want to do something with my husband and myself that is special, besides reading the blood test results. I don’t know what to do though. I like the idea of having a dessert brought to us with the surprise inside at a restaurant but I am probably going to cry like a basket case and don’t want to in public.

My cousin is 8 weeks ahead of me and is doing the silly string announcement so I can’t use that idea. Really I want simple but cute and special. I’ll probably have a photographer or someone to take some pictures of our reactions. Thanks for the help!
