Need help!

I am supposed to start taking Clomid on the 5th day of my cycle. My OB told me to start counting 5 days from the first day I have any of colored discharge but I’m very confused. I had a light brown discharge on the 22nd when I wiped one time & the same thing happened on the 23rd. This morning I woke up at 5 to go to the bathroom and had blood but also again only when I wiped didn’t have anymore until this afternoon. I’ve only had to use 3 tampons throughout the day and they’ve only had light blood on them. When should I start counting day to know when I’m ovulating and when to start Clomid? This is our first month trying with Clomid so I’m trying to understand everything. Thanks y’all!
