Fibrocystic breast tissue

So I've been having some pain and what I thought was swollen lymph nodes in my breast/armpit area. Of course, like any good hypochondriac, I immediately suspected breast cancer. Thankfully it's not. She said it was fibrocystic tissue and it was fine, but may be painful at times and could require surgical removal if the pain got too severe.

Have any of you been diagnosed with the same thing? I just want to get an understanding of what it means for everyday life. Right now I just have a lot of discomfort, I wouldn't really even call it pain at this point, just very irritating.
