Hand pain in pregnancy?

Has anyone experienced hand pain in pregnancy? Woke up this morning and both of my hands hurt. My fingers are tingly at the tips and it hurts to flex my hands. Even the palms are sore. I couldnt open a jar or top if I wanted to. I plan to call my dr when they open. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Yep. Carpel tunnel. My hands hurt sooo bad. It hurts to bend my fingers, especially right when I wake up. I was advised to wear braces at night. We had one laying around so I’ve been wearing it on my left wrist for about 2 weeks and it hasn’t helped at all.

I’ve just started noticing it this past week (36w today). Exactly like you described—pain and tingling in my hands upon waking. I plan to ask my OB about it when I see her Friday, but I have a hunch it’s pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel.

Yes mine is horrible. I’m wearing a wrist band. I went to the chiropractor and acupuncture and it feels better for a little, but now I woke up and it’s numb again. It’s completely normal. They said it’s slight carpel tunnel :(

I’d guess carpel tunnel syndrome or swelling - both common on pregnancy. 
Tell your midwife and they’ll advise you on what you can do. Not long to go now x

Yep! Me! My doc said the vessels in our wrists are really narrow anyway so with pregnancy and higher blood/fluid volume, a lot of women experience carpal tunnel type pain. The first day I woke up with it I couldn’t even grip my doorknobs.
😞 My doc said if it doesn’t get better that I can wear those wrist braces at night to prevent me from bending my wrist overnight.

Yeah, I have it. My right arm is worse than left. It’s super annoying.

Yes! It’s from all the extra fluid in our bodies causing pressure on the nerves. As long as it goes away once you get up and moving I wouldn’t worry. It’s been happening to me since 37 weeks

Yes big time! I didn’t think it was pregnancy related but I looked it up and found that many women experience carpal tunnel syndrome during pregnancy (especially after 32weeks) so painful 😣

Yep! From what I have been told it is pretty common and totally normal.
