when to change baby's diaper size

I'm a FTM and my daughter is 3 and 1/2 months and wears a size 1 I was wondering when is it time to change her diaper size? I hear some people say they wait until their kid has a blowout she hasn't done that they don't seem to be tight on her legs or anything so I'm just curious as to when is a good time to switch to a size 2 she's almost out of her last pack of size 1 I don't want to go by 276 more size 1 diapers if she's going to end up in a size 2 soon!

If they start leaking, leave red marks around their legs, or when the tabs are way out by the hips instead of close to the middle.

I didn’t want to buy another big box of 1’s because I just know by the time we go through it she should be at a size 2 so I bought a big box of 2’s and a small pack of 1’s. She was just about 12 lbs when I did that and size 2 starts at 12lbs so I knew they wouldn’t be too big. She’s on her last handful of 1’s and I’m glad I just went ahead and got the 2’s, they just feel better on her

As you said, when she has a blowout or red lines around her legs from the diaper. Go buy a pack of 32 diapers and if they still fit just buy another pack. You’ll know when to switch a size up.

There should be a weight range indicated for each size. I usually go by blowouts/leakage and then refer to the weight range just to be sure.

Look at those little colored lines where you fasten the diaper.if they don’t reach those move up a size

my son never went by the weight. when every poop exploded out of the diaper, we changed sizes. he's 20months 25lbs and been in a size 6 for probably 6 months now. potty training is the next step for us

The pampers have weight recommendations. I always liked to get there pampers a little bigger because they didn’t leak. Costco has the Kirkland brand and they have a size 1/2 it’s like a a between size. I loved it

I always go by blowouts. Usually go to the bigger size at night first to see if it works better while I'm using up the smaller diapers during the day (he's a good sleeper, and always has a good 8-10 hour stretch before he wakes for a diaper change). Wouldn't be in any rush to go up in size, though, you get fewer and fewer diapers per box. My kiddo is 16 months and been in size 6's for months already😬
