How many different birth control pills did you try until you found the right one for you?

I just started taking Ortho-Cyclen about two months ago. I feel like recently I’ve been on a hormonal rollercoaster and I wonder if maybe this isn’t the right type of birth control for me? Please comment if you’ve had a similar experience or had trouble finding the right type of birth control pill for yourself.

I tried Tri-cyclin first, but my mood swings were CRAZY, so my doc gave me tri-cyclin lo. Then my sex drive nosedived. I decided to go get an IUD instead. MUCH easier to manage.

i've been on several types of birth control pills and it all makes me pretty miserable. I tried the mini- pill (progestrine only), Ortho Tri cyclen lo, Seasonique, and now Cryselle. I get various side effects from nausea to mood swings and all that. I just got a prescription from my doctor for Nuvaring. I don't think the pill is for me

I tried microgestin at first and that was hell. I threw up every single day from it and the mood swings were crazy. Then I tried Nikki and that was probably the best. But I only took it for a month before I decided to stop 😂

I’ve been on 3. The first one was terrible, second one did good (I was on it for years) and side effects hit me like a train. I HAD to come off it. Last one seems to be doing well, little to no side effects! Hope you find the right one for you, it can take time.

I’m not on the pill anymore, but it took me 5 different types of BC to find the right one for me.  I’ve tried a total of 3 different pills, depo, and now I have a non-hormonal iud. 
Just speak to your doctor if you feel it isn’t right. They will most likely switch it for you.

I was on the Trilinyah pill for 2 years, no problems, always took it on time. Then I got pregnant out of the blue and ended up having a healthy, perfect baby girl! 
After I had my daughter my doctor put me on Ortho-tri cyclin and that was okay. It made me have some headaches that I could have lived without, but it didn’t actually work for me. When my daughter was 6 months old I got pregnant again. I had another baby girl and now have two daughters 15 months apart. It’s crazy but I love it!
I just came off Norethindrone, which has been the best one so far. I had no side effects but was worried about getting pregnant again after two “pill babies” so now I have the Mirena IUD and I love it.
