How old is acceptable to be engaged?

Just wondering because my and my boyfriend have been talking about it and I'm not sure whether or not it'd be accepted by anyone due to our age... We're both 17 at the moment, have been friends since we were 11 and in a relationship since 4th November 2012

I would wait and see how y'all get along in an adult relationship for a couple years, it's a lot different than dating in high school. 
​Also, definitely DO NOT move in right after high school unless you do end up getting married.  I've known people who moved in with their bf/gf right after high school and it ends up not being what they thought but they are stuck because now they are financially stable on each other and can't get out of the relationship.

Honestly, COHABITATE. So many people are against it but trust me. YOU WILL KNOW when he's the one. If you can't stand to live with him, if you aren't happy with his habits you shouldn't marry him. I thought I wanted to marry my man and when we moved in together I learned so many things about him that I NEVER would've learned any other way. And now I KNOW he is the one. ☺️

I was with a guy for roughly 2 1/2 years. September 14, 2011 to February 24th, 2014. We got engaged Christmas of 2013. I was ready to marry him then. By the end of it, I'm glad I didn't. He turned out to be a completely different person. Cheated and all kinds of things. We started dating when we were 16. I'd wait to make big decisions.
