August baby in July!

M

Tuesday I went in for my fluid level check, and I was at 3.9. My OB sent me straight to L&D; to be induced!

They started with Cervidil... and that was removed at 1am. I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced.

After, they gave me cytotec... again, I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced after. The midwife decided the best option would be the Foley catheter with the balloon... holy cow that thing was rough 😅 this was started around 9am Wednesday morning.

After using that for 6ish hours, they checked me and I was 5cm, 80% effaced! I opted to do the epidural, so that was started along with pitocin. An hour and a half later, I was fully dilated and effaced... it was time to push!

I pushed for an hour, and the epidural was turned off. Halfway through my second hour, the OB was present and suggested C-section... she said my pelvic bone was too small, and the baby’s head was getting stuck.

After a VERY LONG c-section (not at all what I expected, it kinda hurt and it took three people to pull him out since he was so far down in my birth canal), Kane Andrew was born at 8 pounds 8 ounces, 21 inches long.

He has a big laceration on his head from my pelvic bone and some bruising, but is so healthy!

We love this little miracle so much. Wishing good luck to those delivering soon and those trying for a little miracle themselves!
