Has anyone taken Cytotec for a miscarriage?

One of my options for inducing my miscarriage was to take Cytotec by inserting it vaginally every 6 hours. I just inserted my first dose. Anyone had success, side effects, or complications with it? I wanted to let my miscarriage happen naturally but the risk of Sepsis scared me more every day.

Yes I used it. I inserted 2 pills every 4 hours for 3 doses. I took the first at 9pm. This was on a Tuesday... Sometime during the night I started bleeding, had period cramps and bleeding all the next day and night, then Thursday very light bleeding and mild cramps if any. I felt good like that was easy!.... Nope. Friday morning slowing started feeling back pains like labor contractions. It was like labor contractions and period type cramps that grew so intense I couldn't move. Then they eased up then it came again. They were about 2 min apart. That was when I actually miscarried. I passed the sac, lots of bleeding. I'm not wanting to scare you, just prepare. I wasn't told how bad it would be. I think it depends how far you are too. I was 8 weeks but baby stopped right after 6 weeks. Just make sure you have pain pills ready. I kept bleeding and having clots for about 10 days. Now I'm getting hit with the sadness. I feel so down. I know it's my hormones dropping. Just telling my story to maybe help you prepare. I hope it's not so bad for you. So so sorry for your loss and pain. 🙏

Make sure you take the pain meds early enough, because the contractions will be pretty painful, you can do it. I pretty much stayed drugged during the process, because of the pain & emotional

Oh man they didn't give you anything for pain 😐 I would call about it, I had morphine & could still feel the contractions 😔 I really hope it goes by fast for you.

I took it. I put four in at one time and it started everything for me then my OB gave me something else orally since I had retained tissue that didn't work so she had me put four more in again. It still didn't work so I ended up getting a D&C. With the first dose I passed the fetus 5 hours later and I passed the placenta 2 days later. My water work and then everything started. I did start dripping blood first. I took the pain meds every 4 hours I stopped after the first day thinking I passed everything and when I passed the placenta it was the worse I was having contractions for a little over two hours before it passed. And it still didn't work. I would never do the pills again! I was 8 weeks 2 days and I found out at 11 weeks 3 days. I saw everything and I wish I didn't. My OB didn't set me up for what I saw she told me it wouldn't be bad. The placenta was bigger then she said it would be since it kept growning. And the fetus looked like the last ultrasound I had when I measured 8 weeks 2 days. It was just to much for me. I bleed for June 17- July 3. I finally got the D&C June 30
