I am 30 weeks pregnant so I am pretty irritable but I think this would be my feeling about the situation regardless. I have an 8 year old son. We bought him a PS4 for his birthday. It's in his room. All is well 50% of the time, he plays it when he's allowed and there are no issues. Cue my SOs two boys being here the other 50% of the time.....they yell, they swear into the mic while talking to other kids online, trash his room, fight and argue over turns. The oldest one is an absolute nightmare and bully about the game in general, hogs turns etc. and completely harasses us about using our real, hard earned money to buy stupid dance moves and outfits for fortnight 🙄😡 His kids don't listen to me at all. It's like I'm not even speaking, like I don't even exist in my own home. So my only move is to go over there, yell and threaten to unplug it then actually unplug it as the behavior continues (and it always does) and take the cord. I wish my SO would DO SOMETHING about this behavior but he worries about losing custody if he punishes them which is absolutely ridiculous. I severely limit game play for my son when they're not here but it seems like they're on it from sun up to 2am when his kids are here and it's making me crazy. I cannot take the yelling and fighting and profanity. As of next week, new rule, no PlayStation during the week period. This will make it so I only have to go through this every other weekend. I wake up to yelling and fighting and it makes me so upset, you'd think they would stop doing it because of the consequences which is me unplugging it and taking the cord but no no one seems to give a shit except for my own son who isn't the problem anyway 🤷🤪🤯
