Anastasia?

Do you think the name Anastasia is usable in its full form or would it be constantly shortened? What are the good nicknames? In Russia we use “Nastia” but that doesn’t quite work in English because it’s so close to the word “nasty” 😬 I also like Sia, Stasia is ok (staa-see-ah). Not a fan of Stacy.

As an Anastasia, I can tell you it will 110% always be shortened. Only my husband has ever loved using the full form because he thinks it’s too beautiful to shorten. I get called Ana (Aw-nuh) primarily but I’ve also been met with Stasi (Stah-see).

It would probably be shortened especially when she’s little but it wouldn’t be weird to use her full name either.

I personally don't shorten my kids names into nick names 😓 I like full names lol you names them that name for a reason.. so i would call her Anastasia unless told otherwise by the person themselves..

It all depends on what you let people call her. I’m victoria and I was never called Vicki or tori ever. Always victoria my whole life.

No matter what you do people find a way to nickname your kids. My daughter is Lily and people call her Lil despite me never having done so. 
So if you like the name you should use it. And if people give her a nickname you don’t like you can tell them politely not to.
