Is it rude to talk/be loud when someone is on the phone?

I’m watching an episode of floribama shore and one of the girls is on the phone and the other roommates are being loud in the background. She proceeds to tell them to respect her and her boyfriend and be quiet while she’s on the phone. 
So is it rude to be loud while someone is on the phone or should the person on the phone expect people to make noise? 
This post is for fun and to be light hearted. It’s not meant to be serious. I just thought it was funny to watch.

I think so, but I also think the person on the phone should leave the room. Respect all parties.

I’d say it’s rude to be loud while someone is on the phone ONLY if they’re like the only people around. But if you expect a large group of people to be quiet when you’re on the phone, I’d think that you’re the rude one. Like there was some lady who tried shushing a coffee house when she was on the phone and then people were purposefully loud after that.

I think people should be kind to one another. Is it a quick call, he people close should be quiet for them, is it a long call? Then the person making the call should go to a more private place.

In general I think it’s rude to talk loudly knowing that someone is on the phone
In regard to that episode of Floribama Shore, the boyfriend was being very dramatic and every time something happens, he takes it out on Kourtni (the girlfriend) I don’t know if anyone else notices this but her boyfriend has treated her like crap on the show on numerous occasions 
The boyfriend kept telling her to tell the roommates to “shut the fuck up” and he also kept saying “they’re disrespecting me”  and after that it seemed like the roommates purposely got louder. Overall, I think it’s rude in general BUT both her and the boyfriend could have went about it differently and the fact that he hung up on her for something that wasn’t in her control was over dramatic

Oh man, I watched that last night and I think her boyfriend was being so dramatic. Like she is living in a house with 7 other people, it’s not going to be quiet 🤷🏼‍♀️ And then to hang up on her like that was super rude because she was trying to get them to quiet down and he was just yelling at her. I think there’s a time and a place to expect people to be quiet when you’re on the phone and it’s not when you’re on a reality show living with 7 other people who are almost always drunk.

Yes its rude. If the person on the phone can leave the room, then leave the room. I'm old so I remember not having a cordless phone and how annoying it was to say what a million times because I couldn't hear my friend over my sister's loud mouth.

I think its rude and the roommates could of took the horsing around downstairs or outside .
if the table was turned I know damn well they would of gotten mad too.

That shit always pisses me off. Not so much at home unless I’m trying to make an appointment or something. But when I’m at work it’s terrible. I do take out orders at a restaurant and when I’m on the phone talking to customers servers will be yelling at each other so loud they can hear it on the phone.
