Hypothetical situation.

Girl 1 was sexually abused as a child by family members.

Girl 2 (who is friends with girl 1) was sexually abused by family members as a preteen/early teen, and is currently going through the process of taking her abuser to court.

Girl 2 is also in a mental health hospital due to the abuse, and has been open about the situation to her friend, girl 1.

Girl 1 desperately wants to talk to somebody she knows about her abuse and feels like girl 2 is the only person who would understand. She wants to talk to her about it but is afraid of making her friend feel uncomfortable, upset or even triggering her.

What do you think girl 1 should do?
