Friends Birth control when i forgot mine?

Im at a friends and forgot to pack my birth control, and theres currently a flash flood so im unable to get back home to get it. she recently discontinued taking the same type of birth control and same dosage that i take now, bc of her own concerns with how the brad was affecting her. The pack is still good (hasnt expired). Can i take a pill from that pack for the morning and still be fine as long as i discard the extra pill in my pack when i get home later tomorrow and continue on with my pack?
