What birth control do you use?

Please explain your views and why you have chosen which method as a Christian. Thanks!

I don't agree with hormonal birth control.

We used a diaphragm because its only function is preventing conception. With a few other methods, there seems to be some debate on the possibility of them also preventing implantation should an egg become fertilized. It does have a lower "success rate" which is why we're expecting our little one any day now 😬 but we are both glad we erred on the side of life. (I may also have been a little too stingy with the accompanying gel... gotta get over my hyper frugality.)

For all the people commenting that they don’t need birth control Bc they aren’t having sex with anyone, that’s not always the case. Hormonal birth control can be medication for reasons other than not conceiving. I am a Christian and I was put on birth control because I have pcos, and most of the time I break out with bad acne, and I have lots of pains, and a lot of delayed periods.

I use an iud simply because I can’t use anything that would put estrogen into my system (medical reasons). Personally, I believe it is irresponsible to have a child when you don’t have the means to care for that child. I would rather prevent a pregnancy than have a little one I couldn’t provide for.

We have a 15, 13, and 11 year old. A few years ago he had a vasectomy. A couple years ago I came to God and this January so did he. Our lives came to a point where radical changes were occurring. We felt God calling us to have more children to celebrate this union together through Him. We had the vasectomy reversed in late January. I'm now 19 weeks pregnant with our daughter. We have decided we are done with having anything in the material bed other then us. That includes doctors and medicine. We now want all the babies, and are completely done with birth control. Even natural planning!! So excited!!

I’m not married so I’m not having sex but I also don’t want to use birth control for a number of reasons. I would just advice you to really look into which ever method you chose to use. Many people believe that birth control can affect fertility, which is very controversial. And along with that I just don’t like so put hormones and chemicals into my body. My doctors wanted to put me on it for my bad periods but I’m not comfortable with it. I may in the future but if I do it would most likely be not until I’ve had kids.

My husband and I use condoms and I track my periods and ovulation as a back up. I have PCOS so this method has failed us only one time so far in the 7 years we’ve been together. I was unable to take birth control cuz of how it made me feel so this is the next best thing for us! We are about to have our 4th baby. (He was our unplanned, but very much welcomed) baby

Pull out method. Sadly I have endometriosis, very irregular periods and only one ovary ovulating so it’s working.

We’ve only used condoms and pull out method. I’m not really interested in trying any other form of birth control.
