Baby Girl Measuring Small......

Yesterday my SO & I had an ultrasound for our little girl at our maternal fetal medicine doctor, high risk doctor, & after all her measurements had been taken the doctor can in & said her weight was perfect & everything else was just fine but she was measuring in the small side. My first daughter also measured on the small side & when she was born she weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces & was 19 inches long, so she was small as well but I she was delivered 21 days early due to placental shutdown & she was a c-section due to failure to progress after 3 days. I think if my first daughter had been full term she would have been average size. The doctor said she was measuring in the 30th percentile, obviously 50th would be average, & then the new OB I am going to measured my fundal height for the first time during this pregnancy & the maternal fetal medicine doctor said I was also measuring behind on my belly size.

Every bit of information I have looked up about fundal height size including when I look at the definition on this app I fall within the normal range that it says I should be & as far as my daughter measuring small she is completely healthy & normal for every single other thing they have checked & measured but my doctor now wants to see me even more often than he already does to pay a little more attention to her to make sure she stays within the range she is in now.

So after this long explanation my question is, is there truly anything to worry about if she is measuring a little bit small??

My SO said he isn’t worried at all because she could just be a little shorty like my first daughter & he said that if everything else is measuring fine & all her tests have come back normal then there shouldn’t be much to worry about.

I know my other daughter was little & she is still short for her age, her father & I were both short me being 5 feet 4 inches & he was 5 feet 9 inches maybe a little bit taller, so of course our daughter is (I am average height but her father was definitely on the shorter side).

It’s not terribly worried but I do find myself thinking about what the doctor said probably more than I should be thinking about it & the fact that he wants me coming more often to pay more attention to her & her growth has me feeling as if this is something that I should maybe be a little more concerned about.

Obviously if her being perfectly healthy but just being little is nothing to be concerned with at all but I just think as a parent we tend to be concerned when a doctor wants to look closely at a situation just to make sure it doesn’t get any worse. It also makes me concerned that there is a chance I am having placental shut down like last time which cause me to get induced 21 days before my oldest daughters due date which I feel took part in why I failed to progress amongst other things, I also believe they could have tried something other than what they had tried but thats just my opinion after reading about all the other options that are out there that help woman to dilate & soften their cervix.

Sorry for the long post but I had my appointment 2 days ago which allowed me to do nothing but put more thoughts in my head.
