Can your water break without having any contractions?

Yes... With my first my water started leaking... I couldn't feel contractions...

Yes. My water broke at 37 weeks and I had no contractions. They ended up having to induce me to jump start labor because once your water breaks, you’re at risk for infection. Usually they don’t like your water to be broken longer than 24 hours, especially if you’re term. If your water breaks very early, they may try to keep baby in longer however, either way once your water breaks, you need to go to L&D;

It sure can, with my first my waters broke (constant leak not gush) Sunday at midnight. I didn’t get any contractions until the Monday afternoon. I had to go in 8am Monday morning to confirm my waters had gone. My Son was FINALLY born on the Wednesday morning!
