Trace Protein anyone?

So, I am 37 weeks today and I noticed that for the last 2 weeks, my nurse has documented that my U/A has trace protein. Does anyone knows exactly what that means?

Means you have a very small amount of protein that is being filtered out by your kidneys into your urine. It can be, although not necessarily, a sign of pre-eclampsia. If your midwife isn’t worried all should be OK, how is your blood pressure?

I’ve had it for most of my pregnancy but my BP has been low and my levels look good. No need to worry!

I have had that as well and everything is fine. I asked my doctor about it and he said it’s common because all of your organs work harder when you’re pregnant and it’s from your kidneys working harder. They only get concerned if it’s a 1 or higher as that can be a sign if pre-eclampsia
