Have you ever converted and regretted it?

I converted to Islam and after five years I want to leave because there’s zero community in it for me. I also don’t really believe in parts of how most people practice and I miss my life from my previous religion. 
Have you ever changed religions/spirituality and then regretted it? What’s your story?

I’m sorry to here that. You’ll be surprised what youre going through is actually common. These thoughts occur when we’re not educated or trying to educate ourselves on the religion. I was born in a Muslim family but I started to question Islam. To be honest religion in general. So I started educating myself on the topic. I felt like it would be unfair and unreasonable if I just stop believing in something I don’t really have knowledge about. There’s also this thing called the waswas(Satan whisper). It’s when a believer is constantly having thoughts about the religion, this isn’t classified as doubt. Because if you continue do what you’re supposed to do as in pray and follow religious ruling then it’s not considered as doubt. Trying reading the Quran. It’s very Important. Try to surround yourself with practicing people(in having problems with that too). Try watching Islamic lectures on YouTube( be careful who you watch). I’ve also learned that if youre constantly sinning and not repenting. It harms your faith and believe. And just try reflection and pondering. These are things the Quran tell us to do verses after verses. Find your purposes s goal. It’ll help. May Allah guide you❤️.
Ps. A cause of doubt can also be when a person prefer societal acceptance more than the acceptance of Allah. Just remember Our prophet said when you seek the love of Allah and Allah loves you, the people in earth will also love you. I love you for the sake of Allah❤️.

Salam,  I’m so sorry you regret your decision.  If you are still on the fence or having issues grappling with some concepts of Islam, I highly suggest you find a learned Scholar to help guide you.  
How other people practice may not even be the correct way and it could be totally wrong—so do your research yourself before doing anything you don’t agree with or don’t understand.  The beauty of Islam is that we are encouraged to question and learn for our own benefit. 
With the internet, there are ways to find positive Muslim communities, courses and support too.  If it’s just the localcommunity that’s turning you away, I’ld suggest expanding your range then because not all communities are the same. 
Islam is not just a bunch of rituals and when you understand it on a deeper level, and connect with the right spiritual leaders, it is spiritually fulfilling as well.     
You need to stay strong in your fundamental beliefs and slowly learn about Islam, and keep praying to keep these whisperings away.  Read the Quran, take Arabic lessons, pray it out loud, and have the Quran on loud so Shaytan can hear.  
I would also recommend perhaps a spiritual retreat or program to help renew your faith and spirituality, such as Seekers Hub (Toronto), Al Maqasid (Facebook), Zaytuna institute....   these spiritual retreats with Sheikhs and scholars happen all over the world, US and Canada. They are highly educational and offer you chances to meet with some of the most highly educated and spiritual people in the world.  
We all go through ups and downs and doubts,  but You will find the right people if you keep looking.  
As a Muslim, You know what the right path is already, so why would you turn away now after knowing what is inherently good?  Also, take some courses on the Seera of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)... understanding his life and the revelations from Allah are fundamental to understanding Islam itself and to stay away from innovations or things that simply don’t make any sense at all!   Many Muslims will mix their culture with their religion and then end up doing things incorrectly or in a state of ignorance.  May Allah keep us from being ignorant!  
Remember that doing things for people is not who you should be ultimately doing things for—but for the sake of Allah alone and doing what he asks you to do.  When Allah says to do something, no one ever said it would be easy to submit.  Right? 😊
It isn’t easy and Shaytan truly tries the hardest to pull away the believers because he already has the non-believers wrapped around his finger!! Don’t fall for his tricks!!  
And ask Allah for guidance and to open your heart to knowledge and spirituality... and remember only Allah will guide whom He will... and Allah knows best what is in your heart.  Wishing you the best in your journey. ❤️ WAS.

C.S. Lewis grew up in a Christian family, but converted to atheism later in life. After years and years of believing in no God, he ended up converting back to Christianity. 
There’s nothing wrong with exploring other religions/denominations. In doing so you will find that you disagree with some beliefs, and that is okay—completely normal. 
What’s important is that you don’t just blindly believe in something. Try to do your own research and come to your own conclusions. Don’t just believe something because someone intelligent or powerful says it’s true. <3

Yes; I’ve struggled and lost so much Because I reverted to Islam and openly practiced.  My sons father took my son from me because he didn’t want me teaching him Islam.  I also don’t feel part of the community ; I love the religion but it’s socially lonely for me and not being born Muslim I think it’s harder to be apart of the community.

I think the best spiritual path is one where you only incorporate beliefs and practices you believe in. I involve practices from all different pagan religions because I don’t choose to follow the ones I don’t believe in. It makes me happy and I think it would make anybody happier to be honest ☺️

I studied Islam some time ago. Ur right, unless you’re Arab/Arab like country, or otherwise born and raised in Islam it can be very challenging as I frequently missed the gathering of folks like I would have in church. With choir practice, prayer meetings and bible study in addition to church, it creates a sense of camaraderie that’s missing seems like in Islam. I was Pentecostal by the way. Church every day alllllll day. 
That was like early 2000s. I’m grown now. I have much more awareness of self, so much so that I no longer ascribe to any religion, though I love Allah.  The same way ppl in my family have a “personal” relationship with Jesus is the same way I have a personal relationship with Allah. But you won’t see me waking up for fajr etc. No.   The relationship I have with this deity goes way closer than fajr ever could. I practice Me-ism and it’s been working just fine. Remember only you will deal with what happens when u die. No one else. Btw, I still go to church sometimes, not because I’m an adherent of the faith, but because it’s nostalgic for one and for two I thoroughly enjoy it.

I changed my faith to Islam 5 years ago because I married a Muslim man who convinced me. He cheated on me. abused me emotionally,  made me sleep on the floor when I was pregnant, ignored me for 4 years, left me after our last child 2 days after and married a supposedly Muslim woman and then he doesn't even care for his kids. he lied to me about a lot of things. I regretted becoming a Muslim. but I still have Muslim friends. I have my adopted Palestinian parents and brother and sister. So I dont hate i love my Muslim family.

Lack of community, back stabbing, pettiness, so on.
I’d say you could leave; there’s never anything wrong with removing yourself from situations that aren’t good for your soul.

I was raised Catholic, then denounced all religions and now believe in spirituality, being conscious of reality and love.  There’s a lot of wisdom in all the religions, but subscribing fully to any doctrine I believe is dangerous.  I believe it’s up to each of us to find our own path and not blindly follow one preset path.
