Anyone Giving Birth in NYC?

Question

I get prenatal care at Bronx Lebanon hospital, but I’m having second thoughts on delivering there. I have been thinking about delivering at NY PRES. (Weill Cornell), Lenox Hill, or Montefiore.
I just don’t know what to choose and will I be able to go with my birth plan last minute? And will I get to have a midwife rather than obgyn ?
What hospital do you recommend?

I gave birth at Lenox Hill, and did not have a good experience at all with the staff and they released my son even though he lost too much weight. The next day, our pediatrician sent us straight to Cornell where my son got admitted immediately. Had a fantastic experience there (even though I was a terrified new mom). Staff was amazing. Would recommend Cornell Weill for sure, based on our experience.

I was supposed to give birth at Lennox Hill but I told my obgyn I wouldn’t accept a blood transfusion and she told me that I need to seek alternative care. She transferred me to Columbia Presbyterian but the first day I went there to join their clinic I had a negative experience with rude staff and they were also understaffed so I wasn’t able to be seen that day. I kept calling to try to make an appointment which they never had any available.
Now I’m giving birth at the Brooklyn Birthing Center. Its in freestanding Birthing Center in Midwood which is further than I would like since I live in Harlem but I feel way more supported over there.
If you still have a ways to go I’d look into giving birth at a birthing center attached to a hospital. There are 2 in Manhattan.
Not sure about any hospitals in the Bronx. My friend had been going to Jacobi Medical for her prenatal care but has been having a terrible experience so I don’t recommend there. Shes 20 weeks and needs to get her nuchal sonogram done and they say they are all booked up for sonograms until October which is way too late.

I'm actually getting care at Bronx Lebanon as well. but thinking of maybe giving birth at Einstein instead. idk yet but been thinking. is there a reason for you to not want to stay at Lebanon for birth?
