Will I get an ultrasound at my first OB appointment?

My first appt is the 14th and I just wanna see my lil bean lol will they do it or are they gonna wait till I’m further along? I’ll be almost 8 weeks at the appointment

May or may not. I always did at my first appt at 8 weeks but heard some doctors don't. You could call and ask.

Possibly it’s really up to the doctor. My OB gives ultrasounds at EVERY appointment from the first to the last (even if you come in at 5 weeks) & that is not common at all (unless you’re high risk) ... I suggest that you call your OB and ask so you can know what to expect.

I had one yesterday and was considered 5w5d and we saw the baby, the sac, and the heartbeat. She was shocked and said it was a 50/50 chance of seeing anything at all. She even looked around to make sure there was only 1 😂

They might but not necessarily. Every office is different. At my OB they do an ultrasound at 8 or 9 weeks (the first visit) and then not again until 20 weeks unless there’s a reason.

Probably not. My first appointment both times was just mostly paperwork. I got the dating scan on my second visit both times.
