Gene Testing??

Question

Has anyone gotten Gene Testing done to see what types of medications work for them? I’ve been feeling like a fucking guinea pig ever since I started my therapy journey, is it worth it? Someone help...

I had my done earlier this month. It was really interesting to see how my body would be expected to respond to certain medications. I finally broke down to do it after trialing and failing 4 medications and none working like they should. I found that my body doesn’t metabolize SSRIs which are first line.... Actually out of the 28 antidepressants, my body would metabolize 8 of them as expect... it’s good information though that I can now have on file. I actually didn’t end up changing my meds because by the time I got the results my medications I was trying kind of started working which was Remeron. It’s been a nice change from what I had previously been going through during the months prior. Hope you find something that works for you!!! Keep your head up and moving forward.
